"Get on Up"
Jackson, MS was recently selected by Director Tate Taylor, as another location for shooting his second movie in Mississippi, "Get on Up." After a rousing response to his first venture in the magnolia state, "The Help," Taylor partnered with Imagine Entertainment and Jagged Films to direct this chronicle of James Brown's rise from extreme poverty to becoming one of the most influential musicians in history.
Mick Jagger and his production staff, along with Film Producer Brian Grazer, took advantage of the luxury Fairview Inn, nestled in the historic Belhaven neighborhood of Jackson, as their home base while shooting in Jackson. "We were fortunate to have Sir Mick Jagger stay with us, so soon after the cast and production crew of "The Help," said Fairview Inn owner Peter Sharp."I'm sure Mississippi native Tate Taylor had something to do with that." "It is especially rewarding to be able to provide quality services and amenities, where celebrities feel pampered, and have a "home" to return to with privacy and security."
The movie is slated to be released in early August, and all Jacksonian's hope the cast and crew will return again for the premier of "Get on Up."
